Thsi site was built to mobilize youth, adults and organizations to become better educated about developmental assets, to organize the "community" to act more purposefully and to move this whole agenda idea to a place where it is a priority and not an afterthought.
How do we make youth development a priority for everyone? What do kids need to help them reach their full potential? How do we strategically mobilize all our resources to meet these objectives? DelawareYouth.com is a web portal designed to promote developmental asset building for youth in Delaware, as a way to help answer these questions.
Grounded in extensive research in youth development, resiliency, and prevention, the Developmental Assets framework, developed by the Search Institute, represent the relationships, opportunities, and personal qualities that young people need to avoid risks and to thrive. It has become the single most widely used approach to positive youth development in the United States. Now we need to make in work in Delaware!
